The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)
estimates that 230,000 young workers under the age of 18 suffer
work-related injuries in the United States each year. Young and new
workers have a high risk for work-related injury compared with more
experienced workers. Occupational safety and health training remains a
fundamental element of hazard control in the workplace, and there is
great potential to reduce these incidents through pre-employment
training. Effective pre-employment training should include realistic
environments and hands-on exercises. However, NIOSH recommends that
actual employment in the electrical trades or any of the other
construction trades be delayed until individuals reach the minimum age
of 18.
This student manual is part of a safety and health curriculum for
secondary and post-secondary electrical trades courses. The manual is
designed to engage the learner in recognizing, evaluating, and
controlling hazards associated with electrical work. It was developed

5S خلاصه عبارات Seiri (سازماندهي)، Seition
(نظم و ترتيب)، Shitsuke (انضباط)، Seiso (پاكيزه سازي) و Seiketus
(استانداردسازي) مي باشد. 5S نظامي است كه در ژاپن بصورت نهادينه مورد
استفاده قرار گرفته و نتايج بسيار خوبي را براي واحدهاي صنعتي و خدماتي به
ارمغان آورده است. نتايجي كه معمولاً با استفاده از اين روش حاصل مي گردد
را مي توان به اختصار به پيشگيري از حوادث، كاهش وقفه كاري، كنترل عمليات
توليد و افزايش بهره وري در محيط كار عنوان نمود. بطور كلي هدف نهايي 5S
پيشگيري از اتلاف است. عليرغم اينكه سيستم 5S به ظاهر خيلي ساده و قابل فهم
است و انجام آن اصول نيز خيلي ساده به نظر ميآيد ولي عموماً سازمانها و
واحدها براي پياده كردن آن در عمل با مشكلات فراوان روبرو هستند. دليل اين
امر را بايد در ظاهر ساده آن جستجو كرد. در واقع تحقق 5S از آن رو دشوار
است كه مديران و پرسنل اجرايي از اهداف و ماموريتهاي آن بصورت صحيح اطلاع
كاملي ندارند. بنابراين اجراي نظام 5S و تدارك بستر مناسب براي انجام آن تا
زماني كه اصول آن به خوبي شناخته نشده كاري بسيار دشوار است. به همين خاطر
به منظور آشنايي مختصر مديران با اين روش هر يك از اين اصول به اختصار
معرفي مي گردند.
